Drive: 2009 Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4
A
5.2-liter V10 with 560 horsepower, 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds, a
top speed of over 200 mph and one of the most beautiful modern
designs to ever come out of Italy. It's the new Gallardo LP560-4,
and Lamborghini wants us to drive it. The best news is that we
got to drive the new LP560-4 with about two dozen Lamborghini
owners. Lamborghini of Orange County recently opened up a new
dealership in Newport Beach, and they invited all of their customers
down to see the new showroom and go for a Sunday drive. More

New
generation CLS coming in 2010
The
next CLS will likely be a simpler design. The side will have a
more defined arch, the L-shaped headlamps are gone, and the front
end will be given the family update to be more in line with the
latest SL. The flanks are more three-dimensional, with rear power
bulges, prominent character lines, and flared wheel arches. The
A- and C-pillars are better integrated into the arc-shaped roofline.

Pontiac G3 Wave: Excitement has left the building
The
press release after the jump explains that, "More than ever,
fuel economy is an important factor in Pontiac's formula of style
and performance." In the G3 Waveo, "performance"
means red gauge lighting and 106 horsepower channeled through
a 5-speed manual or cutting-edge 4-speed automatic. It also gets
over 30 mpg highway, so we're supposed to bust out the Veuve Clicquot
and celebrate this new era of efficiency at the Pontiac division.

S400 Blue HYBRID unveiled
Mercedes-Benz
has taken the wraps off of its first hybrid passenger car, the
S400 BlueHYBRID. Based on the S350, this mild hybrid pairs an
electric motor/generator and the first lithium-ion battery in
a production car with a specially tuned version of the company's
3.5L V6 driving the wheels through a 7-speed automatic transmission.
The V6 produces 279 horsepower and can be aided by the electric
motor during acceleration with an additional 20 horsepower and
88 lb-ft of torque, giving the drivetrain a combined torque output
of 285 lb-ft and what MB calls an electric "boost" effect.

GLK ready to storm SEMA
Perhaps
you've heard: Mercedes-Benz has this new SUV called the GLK, and
it's not just the Sex and the City audience that's being targeted.
The compact ute's getting-to-know-you tour will make a stop at
the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, where four concept versions will be
on display. Naturally, BRABUS will represent, skinning the GLK300
Bluetec in Widestar duds, new wheels, and the de rigeur custom
interior. No power upgrade yet, it seems, but knowing BRABUS,
they'll have a version putting out approximately a trillion horsepower
by the time the GLK is in customers' hands. More

GM
reveals the 2011 Chevy Volt
The
car that GM rolled out this morning as part of its centennial
celebration in Detroit is a much more attractive machine that
while different from the concept is still very attractive. Rather
than the egg shape look we saw, it's actually much more like the
car we saw in the Transformers 2 spy pics a few weeks back. The
greenhouse is longer and the raked back windshield gives a very
slick look. Perhaps the most controversial aspect of the design
is the black trim around the side windows. More

Concept FASCINATION
If
you find yourself in Paris at the auto show next month, you'll
see the Mercedes-Benz ConceptFASCINATION on the floor. (It's so
fascinating, it requires all caps, you see.) Chances are, the
video embedded after the jump will be playing on a variety of
screens behind it and around the Mercedes stand in general. It's
your typical car show stuff: light electronica over moving pictures
in which the car itself never moves. More

Audi
Q7 V12 TDI
The
Audi Q7 V12 TDI is set to launch (but not here in the U.S.), and
it's just the thing to give that annoying neighbor with his fancy
VW Touareg V10 TDI a debilitating inferiority complex. 500 horsepower
and approximately enough torque to counter-rotate the Earth (758
lb-ft) come standard on Audi's diesel monster. 21-inch wheels
mask carbon ceramic brakes, LED running lamps help light the way,
and the interior is a festival of dead cow, TV screens, and Alcantara,
all trimmed neatly in aluminum and carbon fiber. More

R4 - new rendering
First
rumors said it will be calledR4, then possibly the R3; but either
way it looks like it will have a future. Here is a new rendering
of Audi’s plans for a smaller roadster to go under the R8. The
future R4 (or R3) will replace the current generation TT and will
compete with the next-generation Porsche Cayman set to be launched
in 2013. It will be offered in both coupe and roadster versions.

this and revealed first preview of the future model with the unveiling
of the Crossover Concept. Official debut will be made at the Paris

changes to which most notably include a new-generation HEMI V8
in the R/T model that produces 368 horsepower and 395 lb-ft torque,
up from 340 hp and 390 lb-ft. Sounds like someone's going hunting
for a G8 GT. The increase in power comes from a new variable valve
timing system, and along with the continued use of MDS (multi-displacement
system), the 5.7-liter V8 can achieve up to 24 mpg on the highway.

G8 GXP officially rated at 415 hp
The
V8-powered Pontiac G8 GT has garnered a fair amount of respect
around Autoblog HQ, with almost everyone who's spent time behind
the wheel singing the praises of the Aussie-imported four-door
muscle car. We're all suckers for rubber-melting torque and rear-wheel
motivation, and even El Capitan Neff has thought about retiring
his Alero for a shot at G8 ownership. For the rest of us, a six-speed
manual would seal the deal.

Cadillac
unveils 2010 CTS Sport Wagon
The
Sport Wagon takes the largely acclaimed styling of the CTS and
adds a rear hatch allowing much more stuff to be carried. The
design team led by Clay Dean has done more than just graft a longer
roof onto the sedan. They extended the roof-line back and the
tail-lights up to the roof, as well as adding hidden rails in
the roof line. The V shape of the grille is also replicated in
the contours of the tailgate. The wagon ends up with 25 cu. ft.
of cargo space behind the seats. Cadillac expects about 60 percent
of CTS sales in Europe... Click
